Commands: Roles
The "Roles" commands: what they do, their arguments and examples.
On this page
+addrole @member @rolegives a role,+delrole @member @roletakes it away.+temprole @member @role 2dgives a role for a while, it is taken away automatically at the end.+temprole listshows the ones in progress.+derank @membertakes away all their roles, except the ones you protect with+noderank add @role(the antiraid leaves them too). It only reaches a member of a lower level than yours, or of the same level if they don't have access to+derankthemselves (+help permissions).
For the whole server
+massiverole @role opens a panel to give that role to every member, +unmassiverole @role to take it away. There you choose who is affected: humans (the default), bots or everyone, and the roles they must have or must not have. A button stops it midway, and only one massiverole can run at a time.
Limiting a role
+limitrole add @role 10 keeps a role to 10 members at most. Once it is full, the bot refuses to give it (with +addrole, +massiverole, role menus or custom commands), and takes it away if someone adds it by hand. Those with access to +limitrole can go past the limit.
The step-by-step guide
Managing roles and nicknames walks you through it.
+addrole
+addrole <member> <role>: Adds roles to members
You can give several members and several roles at once. The bot refuses a role above yours, a dangerous role if the antirole is on and you aren't whitelisted, a full role (+limitrole), and any role to a member of the rank blacklist.
Examples: +addrole @member @VIP, +addrole @member1 @member2 @Event
+delrole
+delrole <member> <role>: Removes roles from members
The command is written like +addrole: several members and several roles at once.
Example: +delrole @member @VIP
+derank
+derank <member>: Removes all roles from members
Roles managed by an integration (bots, booster) and those protected with +noderank stay. It isn't a sanction: nothing is added to their history.
Examples: +derank @member, +derank @member1 @member2
+noderank
+noderank <add/del> <role>: Adds/removes roles that will not be removed by a derank
The antiraid never takes a protected role away either. The list of protected roles is in +settings.
Examples: +noderank add @Booster, +noderank del @Booster
+limitrole
+limitrole add <role> <number>: Limits the number of members who can have a role+limitrole del <role>: Removes the limit on a role+limitrole: Shows the list of limited roles
Once full, the role can no longer be given by +addrole, +massiverole, role menus or custom commands, and it is taken away if added by hand. Those with access to +limitrole can go past the cap. With 0, nobody can receive it.
Examples: +limitrole add @Winner 10, +limitrole del @Winner
+massiverole
+massiverole [role] [role]: Adds a role to all members in the server or to those matching certain conditions
The command opens a panel. The first role given is the one to add, the next ones are roles the members must have. In the panel: humans (the default), bots or everyone, required or forbidden roles, then launch; a button stops it midway. Only one massiverole at a time per server.
Examples: +massiverole @Member, +massiverole @Announcements @Verified
+unmassiverole
+unmassiverole [role] [role]: Removes a role from all members on the server or those matching certain conditions
The command opens the same panel as +massiverole, to take the role away.
Example: +unmassiverole @Event
+temprole
+temprole <member> <role> <duration>: Add a role to a member for a given duration
Durations: 30m, 1h, 2d… The role is taken away automatically at the end.
Example: +temprole @member @VIP 7d
+untemprole
+untemprole <member> <role>: Removes a temprole from a member
The role is taken away right now, without waiting for its time to be up.
Example: +untemprole @member @VIP
+temprole list
+temprole list: Shows all temproles in progress on the server and their remaining time
These roles are given with +temprole; +untemprole takes one away before the end.
The levels and names shown are the original ones: your server may have changed them (permissions, +alias). Every Gestion V2 command
