+mute @member spammutes a member,+unmute @memberunmutes them.+tempmute @member 1h spammutes them for a while (30m,1h,2d…), they are unmuted automatically at the end.+cmute,+tempcmuteand+uncmutedo the same, but only in the channel where you type the command.+mutelistshows the mutes in progress,+unmutealllifts them all.
You can only sanction a member of a lower level than yours, or of the same level if they don't have access to the command themselves (+help permissions).
By default the bot uses Discord's timeout, which lasts 28 days at most, so a mute without a duration ends after 28 days. With +timeout off, the bot gives a mute role instead, which stays until the unmute. +muterole creates that role and sets it up in every channel, or +set muterole @role uses one that already exists.
The step-by-step guide
Sanctioning a member walks you through it.
+mute
+mute <member> [reason]: Mutes members, a reason can be specified
The member can no longer write or speak on the server. By default it is a Discord timeout, which lasts 28 days at most; with +timeout off, it is the mute role, with no limit. If they leave the server and come back, they are muted again. You can only mute members below you.
Examples: +mute @member spam, +mute @member1 @member2
+tempmute
+tempmute <member> <duration> [reason]: Mutes members for a given duration, a reason can be specified
Durations: 30m, 2h, 7d, 1h30m… The member is unmuted automatically at the end. With Discord's timeout (the default), the duration is capped at 28 days.
Example: +tempmute @member 1h spam
+unmute
+unmute <member>: Ends the mute of someone
The command lifts the mute, whether it came from +mute, +tempmute or the automoderation.
Example: +unmute @member
+cmute
+cmute <member> [reason]: Mutes members only in the current channel, a reason can be specified
The member can no longer write or speak in this channel, and keeps the floor elsewhere.
Example: +cmute @member off topic
+tempcmute
+tempcmute <member> <duration> [reason]: Mutes members for a given duration only in the current channel, a reason can be specified
The member can write in the channel again when the time is up.
Example: +tempcmute @member 30m off topic
+uncmute
+uncmute <member>: Ends the cmute of someone
Type it in the channel where the member was muted.
Example: +uncmute @member
+mutelist
+mutelist: Shows all members currently muted on the server
It shows the mute role, Discord timeouts and channel mutes, with the time left for those that have a duration.
+unmuteall
+unmuteall: Ends all mutes on the server
This covers the mute role, Discord timeouts and channel mutes.
+timeout
+timeout <on/off>: Turns on/off the use of Discord Timeout in place of the mute role for muting members (timeout cannot be longer than 28 days)
on (the default): Discord's timeout, which the member sees in their app, 28 days at most. off: the mute role, with no time limit, to prepare with +muterole.
Example: +timeout off
+muterole
+muterole: Creates a mute role or update the one already existing and shows permissions settings errors
The role is set up in every channel: no writing, reacting or threads in text channels, no speaking in voice channels. Run it again after creating new channels. The errors it reports are the channels where another role explicitly allows writing: a muted member with that role could still talk there.
+set muterole
+set muterole <role>: Sets the mute role to an already existing role
Then run +muterole to set its permissions in every channel.
Example: +set muterole @Muted
