Commands: Channel locking
The "Channel locking" commands: what they do, their arguments and examples.
+lockcloses the channel you're in: nobody can write in it any more (or join it, for a voice channel).+unlockopens it again.+hidehides the channel: nobody can see it any more.+unhidemakes it visible again.- You can also target other channels, or a whole category:
+lock #announcements #general. +lockall,+unlockall,+hidealland+unhidealldo the same on every channel of the server, during a raid for example.
These commands change the @everyone permission: a role that has its own permission on the channel keeps its access.
The step-by-step guide
Cleaning and locking channels walks you through it.
+lock / +unlock
+lock [channel]·+unlock [channel]: Locks or unlocks a channel
A closed channel no longer lets anyone write, or join for a voice channel. Without a channel, it is the one you're in; you can give several, or a whole category. You keep the floor in the channel where you type +lock. Discord refuses to close some of the server's onboarding channels: the bot puts a slow mode there instead.
Examples: +lock, +lock #general #media, +unlock #general
+lockall / +unlockall
+lockall·+unlockall: Locks or unlocks all channels on the server
It is useful during a raid, for example. You keep the floor in the channel where you type +lockall, and +unlockall opens every closed channel again.
+hide / +unhide
+hide [channel]·+unhide [channel]: Hides or unhides a channel
Nobody sees a hidden channel. Without a channel, it is the one you're in; you can give several, or a category. You keep seeing the channel where you type +hide. Discord refuses to hide the onboarding default channels: the bot puts a slow mode there instead.
Examples: +hide #staff, +unhide #staff
+hideall / +unhideall
+hideall·+unhideall: Hides or unhides all channels on the server
You keep seeing the channel where you type +hideall, and +unhideall makes every hidden channel visible again.
The levels and names shown are the original ones: your server may have changed them (permissions, +alias). Every Gestion V2 command
